Classic (and common) wooden 4v + 1 LW/MW/SW superhet, great tone. AC only but uses tap on mains TX to power 0.1a heaters in series, UCH42 etc.

Cleaned, re-capped and electrically restored, working.

Immaculate condition. Working despite failure of 1 of the push-pull output valves (MPT4). A working MPT4 is included with this set.

Hacker Herald RP35

10 transistors + diode, 18v supply

Has irritating intermittent fault; either works brilliantly (with great tone) or not at all. "These sets are often found in a non-working state, due to failure of the AF117 transistor in the mixer stage" according to a web source.

5 x home made sets, all from mid to late 20s:

3 x chassis without valves;

1 beautifully preserved (apart from broken reaction cap) 3 valve TRF in warped wooden case - untreated wood, possibly;

and another 3-valver bashed around by Parcelforce; case and 1 valve (Mullard PM1HF) broken.

May have DAB in its name but there's nothing digital about it. V3 (ZD15 diode pentode) is missing. Mains voltage adjustment dropper resistors burnt out but main dropper looks OK.

Was working until paper capacitor across HT line blew up. No damage from this to the rest of the circuit as far as can be tested. With 2 x 5 amp plugs.
