(Chamber Jazz), commissioned by Edinburgh Folk Festival, premièred
at the George Square Theatre, Edinburgh; included on the Hamish Moore
/ Dick Lee album Farewell to Decorum.
The Lemon
Tree Samba for
4 bagpipes and 13 percussion, commissioned by the Lemon Tree Trust for
the official opening of the Lemon Tree performance venue in Aberdeen.
Mass Medium
for flute and computer-generated sound, written
with the help of a Music Award and a Composer's Bursary from the Scottish
Arts Council, premièred at Glasgow University Concert Hall.
West Highland
Time for flute
and string quartet or 3 Bb and 2 bass clarinets, written for the late
Leonard Friedman, premièred at the Mendelssohn on Mull Festival.
Sextet
for clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, violin, cello
and piano, commissioned by The Hebrides Ensemble, premièred at
the RSAMD Glasgow; subsequently performed at the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh,
and broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Linlithgow
Suite for clarinet/bass
clarinet/saxophone/recorder, rhythm guitar, solo guitar and double bass,
premièred at Swing 97's concert for Linlithgow Arts Guild (Excerpts
in Mp3 format available above).
Flight
for pipe band, commissioned by Transfigured for the Theatre
Cryptic production A Language of Others. First performed by the MacNaughton's
Vale of Atholl Pipe Band at the Tramway Theatre, Glasgow, May 1998,
and most recently at the 2000 West End Festival in Kelvingrove Park,
Glasgow.
Concerto
for Saxophone and Chamber Orchestra,
commissioned by the Meadows Chamber Orchestra for performance
at The Queen's Hall, Edinburgh with Dick Lee as soloist.

Motherwell and
Wishaw Suite, Dick's latest commission, from Motherwell and District
Arts Guild, was played for the first time at Motherwell and District
Arts Guild's concert on 28th February 2000 by the North Winds wind quintet.
The piece contains evocations of the area, and those who like both football
and music will be pleased to know that one of the movements concerns
itself with Motherwell FC. It will be part of North Winds' repertoire
from now on.
